Family Visa
A document issued for the purpose of family reunification in a foreign country is called a family visa. In most cases, you must have a family member (spouse or partner, parent, sibling, or child) who is settled in a foreign country and you wish to join them in order to be eligible for a family visa.
Family Visa Types
Spouse Visa | If you have a spouse who lives in another country, you can apply for this kind of family visa. If you are only in a registered partnership, including same-sex partnerships, you may also be eligible for the visa. |
Parent Visa | If you have a child who is able to sponsor you from a different country, this type of family visa is right for you. Since this kind of visa isn't issued by every country, you'll need to check availability beforehand. |
Children Visa | If you want to visit a parent in another country, you can get this kind of visa. For the most part, you should be minor to meet all requirements for this visa, however there are special cases from one country to another. |
Other Family Visa | If you have a sibling, grandparent, or other close relative who can sponsor you for a family visa, you are eligible for one. However, this kind of visa is only available to a select few nations and is rarely issued. |
